A studio visit with visual artist Lin Wang, where she talks about the background and concept of some of her work, including the project 'Exotic Dreams and Poetic Misunderstandings'

This film shows a studio visit with Lin Wang. She talks about the background and concept of some of her work, including her main research project titled 'Exotic Dreams and Poetic Misunderstandings'. As part of this project the artist recently showed the exhibition Exotic Dreams Tattoo Shop at the gallery Entrée in Bergen, which included the window performance 'Pin-up China Girl' and tattoo sessions. In this film, we get insight into the performance, as well as other parts of the ‘Exotic Dreams and Poetic Misunderstandings’ project. We also learn about her plans for the project’s continuation and expansion.

Lin Wang (b. 1985) is a visual artist working between Oslo, Norway and Jingdezhen, China. She received her Bachelor’s degree in sculpture from China Academy of Art and her MFA from the Faculty of Art, Music and Design, University of Bergen. Her practice is interdisciplinary, with a primary focus on porcelain, installation and performance. She also works with food and tattooing.
