Pop-Up in Tromsø
Tuesday 4 December, 19:00
Tromsø Kunstforening, Muségata 2, 9008 Tromsø
On 4 December Norwegian Crafts joins Office for Contemporary Art (OCA) in Tromsø for their Pop-Up event. The event is hosted by Tromsø Kunstforening and is part of OCA's and Norwegian Crafts' commitment to work with art communities outside the Norwegian capital.
In the next few years Norwegian Crafts will continue to build relations with contemporary craft communities in the North through several projects including a new collaborative research project on the Sámi term duodji with artist and architect Joar Nango as well as upcoming seminar collaborations with Nordnorsk Kunstmuseum.
On the occasion of the Pop-Up both organisations will present their programmes. Norwegian Crafts will present the new research project on duodji through a conversation between Joar Nango and André Gali, moderated by art historian and curator Jorunn Veiteberg.
OCA has invited artist and filmmaker Sara Eliassen, who will talk about her current project commissioned by the Munch Museum - Munchmuseet i bevegelse titled The Feedback Loop.
Free and open to the public, but space is limited.
