Norwegian Crafts hosted a group of international art jewellery proessionals for an international visitor programme in Oslo
An international visitor programme in Oslo focused on art jewellery, 24–26 September 2025

Norwegian Crafts hosted a visitor programme in Oslo focused on contemporary art jewellery. The programme coincided with the exhibition Nærverk – smykkekunst og bærbare idéer [Nearness – art jewellery and wearable ideas] on view at Nitja Centre for Contemporary Art in Lillestrøm (6 September–19 October 2025). The exhibition is a collaboration between Nitja and the Norwegian Association for Craft Artists, made on the occasion of the association's 50th anniversary.

The jewellery section at Kunstnerforbundet

The visitors participated in guided tours of the jewellery section at Kunstnerforbundet; the exhibition ART·HAND·WORK and the jewellery display at the National Museum; the exhibitions and jewellery section at Format gallery; and Nærværk – Smykkeunst og bærbare idéer at Nitja.

On 25 September, several of the visitors contributed to the half-day seminar International opportunities in art jewellery organised by Norwegian Crafts in collaboration with the Oslo National Academy of the Arts. The programme focused on different international opportunities for jewellery artists to increase their international presence.

The group had a speed-dating session with artists from the exhibition at Nitja: Kevin Axelsson, Helene Duckert, Sayo Ota, Thisbe Stadler and Dariusz Woljdiga. They also had studio visits with the following Oslo-based artists: Camilla Luihn/Portabel, Phillipp Spillmann, Piera Ying Chu Shih, Tamara Marbl Joka, Sigurd Bronger, Veronica Cheann, Kirsti Reinsborg Grov, Runa Vethal Stølen, Anna Talbot, and Olaf T. Hodne. The programme ended with Nitja Natt, where Marina Elenskaya from Current Obsession moderated a panel conversation with artists Jorge Manilla, Thisbe Stadler and Nanna Melland.
