Visitor Programme October 2019
Norwegian Crafts hosted six people on a visitor programme to Bergen 30 October - 1 November in conjunction with the Norwegian Association for Arts and Crafts' Annual Exhibition for Crafts (Årsutstillingen, av Norske Kunsthåndverkere) at KODE Art Museums and Composer Homes, and Nordic Platform for Critical Craft Theory's first public lecture with Prof. Gunvor Guttorm from Sámi Allaskuvlla.
Participating in the programme were: Evelina Hedin (director Gustavsberg Konsthall); Maria Forneheim (director collections and exhibitions at Röhsska Museum); Pernille Stockmarr (curator and head of research at Designmuseum Denmark); Kari Svarre (partner A. Petersen Collection & Craft); Anna Westman Kuhmunen (curator at Ájtte Swedish Sami and Mountain Museum) and Riitta Kuusikko (chief curator at Rovaniemi Art Museum).
In addition to seeing the Annual Exhibition for Crafts the experts visited several craft artists while in Bergen, such as Gabiel Johan Kvendseth; Astrid Sleire; Ida Carolyn Helland Hansen; Kioyshi Yamamoto; Sissel Blystad; Åse Ljones; Kari Dyrdal; Kari Aasen; Bjørn Morstensen; Heidi Bjørgan and Nina Malterud. The programme also included visits and meetings with several institutions: VISP, KRAFT, KODE Art Museums and Composer Homes and S 12.
